Osvaldo Alonso
Osvaldo Alonso (born November 11, 1985 in San Cristóbal, Cuba) is a Cuban football player who currently plays for Seattle Sounders FC Major League Soccer. Alonso began his career with Pinar del Rio in his homeland after his defection to the United States in June 2007. Alonso trained with Chivas USA, and was offered a contract for $ 12.900 with the development team. Finally, Alonso chose to sign with Charleston Battery on the theory, he would get more time to play in a team USL First Division. He impressed at first, after a sharp exit from the pre-season Carolina Challenge Cup 2008.
