Andres Duany
Andres Duany (born September 7, 1949) is an architect and urban planner America. Duany was born in New York but raised in Cuba until 1960. He attended Choate School (now Choate Rosemary Hall) and received his undergraduate degree in architecture and urban planning from Princeton University. After one year of study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he received a master's in architecture from Yale School of Architecture. In 1977, Duany was co-founder of the Miami firm Arquitectonica, with his wife, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Fort-Brescia, Bernardo, Laurinda Spear Hope, and Romney Hervin. Arquitectonica has become known for its unique style, a dramatic, expressive 'high tech modernism. "Company Atlantis Condominium was featured prominently in the opening credits of" Miami Vice ". Duany Plater-Zyberk and Duany Plater founded Zyberk & Company (DPZ) in 1980, headquartered in Miami, Florida.PHN has become a leader in the national movement called New Urbanism, which seeks to end urban sprawl and urban disinvestment.
