Alvaro Parente

Alvaro Parente (born October 4, 1984 in Porto) is a Portuguese racing driver. Parente's father was also a racing driver. After winning the European Junior Championship karting in 1998, Parente made his debut in racing in 2001 at age 16, driving in the Spanish F3 Championship. The following year he was included in the draft of the Portugal team and scored a victory on his way to 4th place in the series. Parente began as an international career again in 2003, to move to the F3 Euroseries with Team Ghinzani, but the Mugen-Honda engine was lower than the Mercedes and he scored one point.He does better with one-off entries in the Italian Formula 3 and at Spa in a leg of the British Formula 3, his first association with Carlin Motorsport, which has been included in this year's Macau Grand Prix. This brief contact paved the way for a contract with Carlin for the 2004 season, where he participated in the British series, marking another victory and seven finishes in the championship.
