Ahmed Hossam
Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelhamid (Arabic: أحمد حسام حسين عبد الحميد, born February 23, 1983), commonly known as Mido, is an Egyptian footballer who plays for Ajax as a striker. Mido started his career with Zamalek in Egypt in 1999 SC. He has left the club for KAA Gent of Belgium in 2000, where he won the Belgian Ebony Shoe. This has led to a move to Dutch side Ajax in 2001, where he joined Celta Vigo on loan in 2003. His next destination was Olympique de Marseille in France and he left them for Italian side AS Roma in 2004. He joined English side Tottenham Hotspur on a loan of 18 months in 2005 and finally joined the club permanently in 2006.He left the club in 2007 to join Middlesbrough, which he joined Wigan Athletic, West Ham and Zamalek on loan. Mido is an Egyptian international, who has accumulated 51 caps and scored 19 goals. Born in Cairo, Mido started his career with the Egyptian Premier League club Zamalek SC in 1999. He scored three goals in four appearances in Zamalek, which has attracted the attention of the Belgian club KAA Gent, who signed the player in 2000.
